In Office Teeth Whitening

Are you embarrassed by yellowed or stained teeth? Have you wasted tons of money on home teeth whitening treatments that gave you dismal results?

Integrity MediCenter – MediSpa has the perfect solution for you. We offer professional teeth whitening in our Hopkins, MN clinic. The procedure is very safe and effective. We use professional strength 16% hydrogen peroxide and boost the whitening process with a cool blue LED light. You will have up to three 15 minute sessions in one sitting.

After a teeth whitening session, your teeth will be noticeably whiter but not artificially white. They will whiten only as much as your DNA will allow, leaving you with a natural looking smile. We have done hundreds of treatments, and it is not uncommon to see teeth whiten by 12 or more shades in a 3 session treatment.

How long will your teeth stay white?

Depending on your habits, they will yellow faster if you smoke or drink dark colored beverages like colas, coffee, or tea. We sell touch-up teeth whitening pens for those times when you need a quick touch-up.

After Care Instructions

  • Drink only water for the first hour to allow pores in your teeth to start closing.
  • Avoid dark wines, tomato sauces, and other deeply colored foods and beverages for 24-48 hours to avoid staining.
  • Avoid extremely hot or cold liquids
  • Cut down on smoking, drinking, and consumption of dark colas, coffee, tea, etc. to keep your teeth sparkling white
  • Women--be careful with lipstick. Consider a change to one that is smudge-proof to prevent staining

How Is Teeth Whitening Done?

  • A cheek retractor is inserted to expose your teeth and gums
  • Gel is applied to your teeth being careful to avoid contact with your gums.
  • You relax under the cool blue LED light, which activates the gel
  • Rinse after 15 minutes
  • The process is repeated twice more, for a total of three sessions.
  • The entire procedure will take about an hour

What is the difference between hydrogen peroxide and carbamide peroxide for teeth whitening?

Hydrogen peroxide is used in professional settings at higher percentage

  • Requires special care, at high percentages not to have it in contact with your gums
  • Works more quickly
  • Needs to be refrigerated

Carbamide peroxide is found in home whitening kits.
  • Takes longer to activate
  • Gets changed to hydrogen peroxide when activated
  • 3:1 ratio, so 36% carbamide peroxide is roughly equivalent to 12% hydrogen peroxide
  • Can be used in mouth trays because it won't irritate gums
